I have two model 1100 servers with 80 GB drives and version 3.4.X software. Both are now working fine (one was dead, but I was able to clone the drive from the other to a new 80 GB drive and am good to go).
I recently tried an experiment in which I sector copied the first part of one of the 80 GB drives onto a Seagate 250 GB drive. The 1100 booted up fine, but reported 80 GB. I then used the online disk utilities to reformat and after it was done, it reported as a 130 GB drive. I thought that the 1100 with this version firmware was able to handle 250 GB drivers. The current 130 GB is better than 80 GB, but would like to get the full drive. Is anyone aware of a way in which I can get the full 250 GB? Thanks in adavce for any help. Craig |

Has anyone had any luck begging this version from Adaptec? (I know better than to request from the forum). Thanks, Craig |

Adaptec has been releasing v3.4.807 on email request if you ask nicely.

I think I spoke too soon that the firmware version was my problem. I was able to find a copy of OS 3.4.805 and successfully updated one of the 1100s. It does now report version 3.4.805. However, it still sees the drive as only 137 GB.
After updating the firmware, I formatted the drive, but that is all I did. Is there something else I should do to get the full 250 GB? Thanks, Craig |

You need to issue this cmd "co de format 10000 /reinit" from the debug page. It will reformat the HD so all data will be lost.
