I really don't know about AOpen mobos.
But for AGP 8X mobos check the following thread in this forum: "NForce2 vs KT400". |

I'd suggest an Asus, Abit, or Epox board before I consider AOpen.
Others to consider are Soyo and MSI.

Hmmm?, for performance I'd only ever recomend the 'Three A's', Abit, Asus And Epox!

KT400 boards have problems still ... 8XAGP doesn't work that well, and they don't clock all too good. I hope it works for you.

ok, I got the mobo, case, vid card (ati 9000 pro 128mb) and an xp2000+ today. Ordered it all from buyxtremegear.com. I hooked everything up and i am waiting for the ram that is coming tomorrow.
One question. When i put the heat sink on the cpu, I applied quite some pressure. Is that normal? I didn't hear any cracks or anything, just a little scared. Oh well I will write up my expierience with it 2morrow when i get my ram. |

If you are using the stock piece of CRAP, it is normal to put a shitload of pressure on it, because those clips are STIFF. That HSF sucks, though, so get a new one or face high temps and next to no overclockability.
