i'm soon to be runnign 2 loops in my system, one for CPU and one for GPU with a pelt. what do you think the best way of cooling my northbridge would be? extra on one of the loops? if so, which one? will having it on the cpu loop (ehiem 1250, double heatercore, DD RBX(1.5")) restrict the flow?
Or if i have it on the pelt/gpu loop (Hydor L20, single heatercore, DD Maze4-1) will this cause too much restriction, or will the tec make the water too warm? i should of thought about this earlier. lol... 3rd loop anyone?

Put it on with the GPU. You shouldn't see bad temps. Why 2 loops anyways? Isnt that complicated?

it is a little, but its alot more simple than my current setup. i have...
.................................................. ............/ GPU - RES \ Pump - Double Heatercore - DD RBX - <.....................> - Pump .................................................. ............\ NB - RES / i have nearly 10ft of tube in the case, and its a touch cramped. with two loops... 1250 - Double Heatercore - DD RBX - 1250 L20 - Heatercore - Maze4-1 GPU - L20 with this i only have about 6-7ft of tube and without the res my temps will be slightly lower (the res absorbed heat from my hdd's and Cold cathodes (cold my ass)) and took up the room i was originally going to use for my pump, i reckon my temps for my CPU will be lower and more controlable, as 2.5 litres is alot to keep regulated.

A GPU + pelt will produce more heat than his CPU, and that loop has only one rad & the weaker pump.
With your set ups I'd do one of two things. 1) forget watercooling the NB and buy a Swiftech air cooler. 2) Run the NB with the CPU loop which has the stronger pump and dual rads. |
