I have a linksys 4 port router. Some of the jacks are weird. They will only connect if you wiggle the plug on the cable around. This is extremely annoying, because if I do get it to connect, a day or so later, i gotta go wiggle it back into place. Has anyone experienced a similar problem ?

Only thing I can suggest would be new cables. Had a few cables that the ends would do that to me (granted they were the cheap ones), replaced cable and problem solved.
KDC has cat 6 cables real reasonable, currently running them throughout my system, no problems as of yet. Linksys BEFSR41 ans D Link DSS-5+ 4 PC's on line constantly and repair station connections for the PC I am currently repairing Aardil |

All I can contribute is the fact that some of the pins inside the jack can bend to where they make a poor connection. That's the only moving part in that type of connector (that and the plastic clip that snaps in).
You can bend them back, just make sure that you either use something non-conductive, or that you unplug the router before doing that (preferably the latter). |

Good news is, that if you have at least one good connector you can use it to: 1) connect (uplink) to an inexpensive hub (+- $10.00), 2) connect the computers to the hub, and 3) all your problems will be solved. If buying a hub, just make sure it is an "autosensing" model so you do not have to go through the agravation of building/buying a cross-over cable.

The connector seems to be OK, the pins aren't bent back at all. Maybe its a bad connection between the PCB and the jacks ?
