Default abit=high temps?

I got a good deal on an abit ic7-max3 and switched out my asus p4c800 deluxe.
On the asus board, I could run my 3.0c@3.5 at temps around 33C w/full load. I put in the abit board and my stock temps are around 50C full load. Is there some sort of issue with how abit boards report temps? I checkec and double checked my w/c setup and it seems to be exactly the same as it was when the other board was in there. Here's the specs:

abit ic7-max3
p4c 3.0
4x512mb pc3500 corsair
dangerden RBX
BIX extreme, 2x120mm delta fans
bay-res
hydor L30
thin layer of AS3

Any suggestions?

Mobo sensors are notoriously inaccurate, I wouldn;t worry too much about it if your comp is stable.

doesnt the abit max3 have problems with eXtreme overclocks with the voltage rails?
or is it corrected now?

Ok, then I must translate. Abit P4 Motherboards temperatures are not "actual" temperatures, they are "calculated". Because of this the temperatures you are going to get are 8C to 12C above the normal temperature.

So , if you have an IC-7 Max 3 water cooled , and you click on your Abit HQ and you see that your temperature is 35C, the real "actual" temp should be somewhere from 22C to 27C.

I have the same set up you have exept for the water-cooling (we still have the same Cpu block), my temps on idle range from 34.5C to 36C, 38C to 40C full load without overcloking.

I had a drastic change in my temps when I changed mobo's though. It seems weird that there would be a 10-15C difference in temps between the two. I understood the calculated temps angle, I just wanted a fix.

Just realize that all the temp monitors are liars and you'll be better off.

Run it fast, run it hard, and make it stable. As long as its stable, the temp really doesn't matter. You won't own it that long!

if it is rock-stable at 135C then sure, thats okay with me.

honestly, none of the temp sensor measurements are anywhere near perfect. At best, I use them to guage the delta-T for any change in my cooling / OC configuration. The actual numbers don't really bother me.
