I've been poking around and found this work around, make a bat file "note pad and save as up.bat in your distribfold folder (hope most of us know this
![]() del foldtrajlite.lock .\foldtrajlite -f protein -n native -qf -df -it -rf -p0 -g0 -ut del receipt.txt up Also deleting autoupdate.cfg and replacing foldtrajlite.exe with a old copy " if you have one handy" then start foldit.bat with -u t works too. this has worked for me on the systems I have here but I have alot of systems sperad all over town. On a up note for our team if we can hold in there alot of people are dropping in other teams due to this. ![]() Last edited by imagex; 04-24-2004 at 12:19 PM. |

Jaydee what does yours do?
it took mine afew hours to get all mine uploaded , maybe only upload 2 or 3 uploaded then restarted but if you check, the number of buffered gens will have gone down 2 or 3, another note all the ones I used this on are now uploading fine, seems to be a problem in the receipt.txt file with the ip so the bat file deletes the file every time it restarts. oh and when its done uploading you have to restart with your normal foldit.bat cuse up.bat only uploads. |

ah, I found this: the ones I deleted autoupdate.cfg and replaced with the old client on are uploading now by them selves "there running the old client with the new protein, lol they wont download the the new client" the ones I only use the bat file on r not uploading unless I stop and use the upload up.bat, there running the new client. Hope this helps

Wow, what a time to have spent a couple days up in the hills dirt-biking. Two computers weren't running the standard foldit script and didn't update, the disk-less box filled it's ramdisk and crashed, the other two aren't uploading squat. Yeesh! Despite all the angry posts over at the official DF forum, it does looks like they are getting the bugs worked out.

I still can't upload my buffered gens...to make it worse my client is folding like 5 times slower now. It takes freaking 10 minutes now to complete one gen! And that's after I upgraded my 512MB ram to 1GB!

or you can use the purge comand and make it dump the bad ones, I had about 300 when that happened to me and I purged about 30 till it got past the bad ones, saved 270

Don't purge them. Upload them anyways because Howard is going to try to award lost points for 910s. He can't do that if you don't upload them.

Hey guys,
I know this thread is all about folding but I havent read it lately. I got a problem. I have been running this new protien/update ever since it came out and for some reason its not counting any work I do. I have like at least TEN 24hr straight folding days and nothing to show for it. The program loads fine, no errors, net is always on, etc. Its wierd. Is this happening to more people? Last edited by Cptn. Foo Foo; 05-06-2004 at 02:43 AM. |

Capn., what does progress.txt (in your DF folder) say? Buffered gens? And how 'bout the error.log? If you have a reciept.txt, what's it say?
The main-office had some problem with a cgi-script at the beginning of the latest protein, likely the source of your problems. |

I noticed my work done was being updated at the start of the new protien. My best energy was changing. But for the longest time now my work/energy havent changed.
---------------------- This is currently whats in my "progress.txt" Building structure 11 generation 149 89 until next generation 1 generations buffered Best Energy so far: 59.737 ---------------------- Ahh...here we go..."error.log" is a massive file (200K text file!) full of things like: Thu Apr 22 15:03:03 2004 ERROR: [000.000] {foldtrajlite2.c, line 4933} Error during upload: NO RESPONSE FROM SERVER - WILL TRY AGAIN LATER Thu Apr 22 21:41:07 2004 ERROR: [002.000] {foldtrajlite2.c, line 4881} Warning during upload: STATUS 910 MISSING PREVIOUS OR ILLEGAL GENERATION Thu Apr 29 04:10:57 2004 ERROR: [000.000] {foldtrajlite2.c, line 5015} Error during upload: No response or unable to connect to server ---------------------- I have a gut feeling I am gonna loose all this work done ![]() EDIT: no "reciept.txt" file BTW |

Yeah, those 910 errors are bad news. On the plus side, Howard, the project director, has said that in a week or two, he'll add to people's points to give credit for some of the generations lost to problems.
Clean install is good plan. |

Delete/reinstall is the offical fix. Even a completely unattended machine should have had the badness worked through within a day or two of the server problem's solution. That it hasn't turned out that way implies that something got corrupted in your DF install.
