Default Cleaning Heatercore

Before I put this heatercore to use, I want to get all of the gunk from the inside cleaned up. Is there some sort of bath that I can submerge this guy in to clean it all up? Radiator flush has you pump it through the rad, which would most likely ruin a pump that we're using. Any ideas?

Default idea

How bout this? You put some of the cleaner in the rad and shake it around, and dump it out and see how dirty it is? If nothing is coming loose, either let it sit over night, soaking in the cleaner, or try my original plan. Original plan is to get a length of tubing to fit over one of the barbs. Lay the rad down in a bucket, on in a slop sink, and pour the cleaner down the long tube, and it should create enough pressure to force it out the other barb. I think the longer the tubing, the greater the pressure, I tried it with a 2 foot section, thru my waterblock, and there was pressure. With a rad, there will be more restriction, but give it a try and see.

I circulate a solution of Simple-Green cleaner through 'em for a day, then soak briefly in sodium hydroxide solution, and finally rinse.

Soaking in a bucket of radiator flush, then a thorough rinse should work.

Well, I've put rad flish in it and have shaken it up, but it seems that there's always more in there.

Groth, are you saying you circulate the simple-green with a pumps?

Yep. I use a bucket of cleaner with submersible pump in it. Also counts as a leak test!

The ultimate is a hydrocloric acid bath but i doubt you have one of them so just use the rad flush

Last time is did it i used a kettle descaler solution and that didnt work too bad. It was quite a strong acid. I let it soake and then flushed it out with a garden hose for a min or 2.
