With my Duron 750 clocked at 952 at 1.85volts, I'm getting these temperatures:
CPU @ Idle: 28C CPU @ 100%: 37C (Iwill CPU sensor) Ambient is 25C. How do these temps compare to amyone elses watercooled Duron? (Cooling system is a OCWC copper polyblock, 4x6" trans cooler (from Danger Den) cooled with a Panaflo M1A @ 7 volts. Pump is a Magdrive 250gph, all with 3/8" fittings and pipe.) |

even with watercooling, they stilli run a bit above ambient temp. what is your water temp?

At a guess, I'd say the water is quite warm, as the PVC hose is fairly soft and pliable. |

I use waterccoling on my KT7A / Duron 700@980 (1003) and with ambient temperature of 24C have 30C iddle and 37C max. Looks very close to your results.

I know those M1As are loud mofos, but you said its at 7v and that your water seems quite warm. Get some type of speed control on your fan so that you can run it in between the speed of 7v and 12v. That should take your H2O temp down a good deal and therefore yield lower CPU temps. You could always just run that badboy at 12v too

Not exactly on topic, but have you tried OCing your Duron any faster than that? Maybe I just got a good chip but I currently have a Duron 850@1100 stable with a Thermaltake Volcano II HSF. Temps are around 40°C with that setup.

Kevin:
I redid the connection on the M1A at 12 volts (it's not that noisy either - less than the five 80mm Sunons I installed in the case months back that use 7 volts) and the reported temperature (using the on-board socket thermistor) dropped by 1 degree celcius, so I guess that's not really conclusive. I'm going to get a couple of Compunurse probes, so I can get a more accurate idea of CPU temp, and actually measure water temp. parad0x: I guess I just got a stubborn chip. Right now it's running sweet at 7x 136 for 952Mhz. If I increase the FSB by 2Mhz, taking me to 966Mhz, it refuses to even post. If I go back to 100Mhz FSB, at 9.5x it runs fine; at 10x it refuses to post. For that matter, 9.5x 101Mhz is also a no-boot situation. More voltage might help, although MBM and BIOS both report the setting of 1.85v to be 1.94v. |
