Default Gerber SUCKS!

You know, Joe did an article on Gerber multitools. I just want to cover the other side of the story.. I've had 2 of them break on me. The first one was mildly understandable, my friend was using it as a hammer at the time. This one WASN'T understandable:

Here we have the broken Gerber

Here we have what it did to my hand when I was squeezing really hard on it and it closed rapidly as the jaw sheared off!
What the hell? I'm looking for the made in China or Made in Taiwan sticker on this POS. If ANYONE knows the email address of this company, let me know.

Shit man, I have used mine to pry stuff, hammer stuff, Bend stuff, cut stuff, break stuff, and out of the 3 I have owned not one has as much as gotten a bent tool, and I beat the crap outta them!

Shit I stood on mine to hold something in place for someone already...

How the hell you break yours, just squeezing?

you should stop buying pliers from that guys trunk

Ive never seen anything like that... Ive had a leatherman and a gerber multipliers for ages now and i dont think i could go on living without either one. Actually all I use are these tools, and a really nice phillips head screwdriver.

Ok, here's a shot of the broken metal..

See a problem here? 3 different types of metal there.. WTF?! I could cast metal better than that myself! No wonder it snapped when I was just squeezing it!

I can't find a single email address for gerber.. I guess their a division of Fiskars tho.. I would definately like to get ahold of them. And no, I can't get a better picture, It's extremely hard to focus on something the size of my fingertip..

I've broke two of them, and never had a problem with getting them warrantied. But I bought mine from a plumbing supply house, all I had to do was walk-in and throw it at my inside salesmen and scream a little bit, okay, a lot. just kidding. Funny but I would be lost without my Multi Tool and my Palm on a job site.

My new gerber arrived this weekend. My only complaint is that I sent in a needle nose model, and they returned a snub nose model. Ahh well, it's nice to not have to buy a whole new one on Ebay. You can still see the mark it left on my hand, if you look really close.
