I have a p3 800 (100mhz fsb). 1.7 is default voltage. I can do 112mhz at 1.95 and 115mhz at 2.0 (max). This sucks. WHY?!?! Water cooled w/ cpu heat at 112mhz only 15 deg above ambient...

you can actually OC an AMD chip though.
lemme guess ms, you are a big Microsoft stock holder arent you? AMD is currently SPANKING Intel in almost every area. Oh yeh the extremely over priced P4's are of a higher clock, but to get better performance, better FPU, Better OC speeds, and better Ram AMD smokes intel. ------------------ C-ya Joe - Owner/Editor www.ProCooling.com Where the Completely Addicted Come to Cool Off Somebody set up us the bomb. |

You probably just got a bum chip.
Not all 800mhz plus chips don't overclock. I'm running right now (on air cooling) dual P3 850s slot one at 952mhz (112mhz bus) at default voltage. cB0 chips. I don't think I am that lucky to get these. I thought about watercooling, but I would have to replace my board to get any more overclock out of these chips. (Board only has 100, 103, 112 and then 133 MHZ bus options, and no voltage adjustment.) |
