Default Dumb question, but...

What exactly is the bleeding process when using a (bay) reservoir? Do you just let the system run? Or do you hold it upright with the cap off so that the air can escape out of the reservoir?

I know this might be a dumb question, but I'm very new to water cooling and have looked around and haven't seen anything detailing this.

Thanks for any advice,

let 'er run, assuming the fill point is the highest point in the rad and you are not pulling any air on the outlet of the rad

What do you mean, the highest point in the rad? The reservoir and radiator are two separate things. Do you mean the highest point in the system? And what do you mean, pulling any air on the outlet of the rad?

Ok, yes, I'm a complete noob. Help me out

Basically you fill the res, and turn on the pump. The pump then sucks water out of the res while pushing air in. Eventually theres no more air left and you're done. With a good res it bleeds completely in 20 or 30 seconds.

Though this only works if water in the res can reach the pumps impellor. Otherwise the pump will be dry when you turn it on and it'll just grind in place.
