Default Is RTV or Silicone better at sealing brass threaded barbs in plexi

Sorry for the noob question.

I have built a Plexiglas reservoir and I am about to fit some threaded brass barbs into it. Is RTV or GE Silicone Sealer better for sealing threaded brass fittings in plexiglas?

As far as I know most or all RTV are (I guess latex based could be called RTV) silicone based. GE does make some of the best silicone on the market. My bro for a while installed PVC roofing and GE is all they used for sealing. But that was over 20years ago so I dont know how it stacks up now.

For building engines I used either GE or black RTV to seal water passages and valley covers with no failures also, but did have trouble sealing head studs that were open to the water jacket on my 406. I think locktite is what I finally got to work for those.

The best stuff would have to be marine Goop or plumbers goop, I typically just use 1-2 wraps of teflon tape and thats perfect. Silicone will sometimes for some reason become slippery and not stick and the barbs will easily turn out. I would suggest GOOP and to only hand tighten them in so it decreases your chances of cracking a lot.
