Default Fill/bleed component

I looked at the swiftech fbk525 (shown here - http://www.directron.com/fbk525.html) and decided I don't like the construction of it (those funky euro quick-connect hose fittings give me the willies).

So, I visited the US Plastics web site to see if they had the stuff I need to build something that was (or appeared) more secure, and I *think* these are the parts I want:

60817 - Colder 1/2" Polyprop Hose Barb Straight Thru - 1.86 Lgt - Coupling Insert (qty 2)
80689 - Colder 1/2" Polyprop In Line Hose Barb Shutoff - 2.82 Lgt - Coupling Body (qty 2)
17234 - Hayward stopcock valve kit (qty 1)

The stopcock kit looks fairly huge, so I'd be interested in hearing about something similar that takes less space.
