![]() ![]() The MCP600, and MCP650, PSI vs Inches H2O values do not match. Note that the MCP650 has a higher PSI, but a lower inches value, in comparison to the MCP600. Which one is the correct value? In my experience the MCP600 has the higher head over the MCP650, but there are always smallish variations (+/- 10%) between different pumps, but it would be nice to know which between the MCP600 and MCP650 that this reviewer had actually generated more head. Overall a very good review. I really liked it. He's improved his review set of the pumps, and has presented it very well. Very thorough.
Three (small) improvements I can think of: 1) Actually measure the heat dump of the pump 2) Find a way to measure the noise level, or if not expressed as dBA, then at least a sound-snippet set of the compared pumps with a reference volume sound, such as him saying "Voice reference", and telling people to adjust their volume until it sounds like he's talking to them directly. 3) For the "real world" flow rate test, it would be nice to have more than a single example. The example he presented was one of a very low restriction set up with an outdated waterblock (Maze 3). Would be nice to have three setups, being low restriction (like the one he used), moderate restriction (White Water, RBX/TDX, or MCW6002) with a dual heater-core, and high restriction (3/8" ID tubed system) with some highly restrictive European block. None of the above are critically important, just suggestions. |

It seems like the MCP600 is ~6" lower than spec, the MCP650 ~6" higher than spec, and the MCP350 about 10" too low. A range of 20% doesn't seem smallish to me. :shrug: MCP600's with the first gen pump head put out less pressure didn't they, could he have one?

Yes Cathar, you are correct - the inches of water values do not agree with PSI - my bad. (I changed the order and updated the PSI numbers from draft to final but didn't update inches). I have submitted a revised table.
I too was surprised by how well the MCP650 performed (especially the max disch head) - guess I got a very good one! Thanks for the suggestions as well, always room for improvements... ![]() |

If you take a MCP350 and a Storm, Whitewatter or TDX type of block would this pump perform better or worse then a MCP650. It has more head but if i understand corect less flow and uses a smaller diameter hose.

the output of all MCP600 pumps, v.1 or v.2, is/was quite the same
- barring individual unit variation Mythrill pumps are not matched to a wb, rather to a system (all the components functioning together) |

over the course of time I recieved no less that 6 different pump curves for ostensibly the same product
I refer to these as the yarrow stalk curves, and you can confirm all this with Chris if you doubt my word (or look at their product lit) after much discussion, the 9/26 curve was identified by PanWorld as being the appropriate curve |

yes you may be correct (although I am unwilling to sort out the dates - I presume yours are correct) for several months the 'fix' was the reduced impeller which DID have a reduced output so yes, it is possible that Lee has a cut impeller (he could open it and look too ?) I'm going to have to pay better attention to your posts Bruce, 2ed time now |
