Has any body seen success with this waterblock?
Does anybody have any comments concerning this block. I just bought one and I guess I should have asked this question before doing so but it seems like a decent piece of hardware. I have a 156 pelt that will be sandwiched on the bottom with a copper cold plate and it'll be cooling an Athlon XP 1900+. I'm coupling it up with a Blackice Radiator and a 150gph pump. My objective is to build a descent h20 cooling setup that fits well inside my case. How am I doing so far. any suggestions comments? I admit I'm a newbie. |

how are you planning to clamp the coldplate to the block? AFAIK the Z4 doesn't have a tec mounting system, so you'd end up having to either rig one yourself (some effort) or use the force that holds the block to the cpu to also hold the tec (doesn't work well). In contrast blocks like the maze2 have a speical coldplate that bolts to the waterblock independently of the clamping force on the cpu.

the z4 is crap for one, and secondly, it doesn't have a coldplate mount solution, so you'd have to spend a lot of time modifying it.
you'd be much better to go for a maze2.2 |

150 gph probably isn't gonna be enough with that block...it has an insane number of 90* turns in it, and the channels are about 1/4" or less. This thing is gonna kill flow like crazy.

yeah, and that would be made even worse by the fact he is putting a 156w pelt in there. not a good solution at all
