Hi guys,
anyone have a good link to "beginners guide to fittings" ? I get alot of email from people asking what 1/4NPT and G 1/4 mean. I find it a little scary people will try a DIY liquid cooling system without knowing basic plumbing, and would like to offer the best help I can. Thanks, Dave Last edited by Dave; 06-01-2005 at 06:53 AM. |

Don't know how to get a direct link to it, but they go over how things are measured, the difference between parallel and tapered and the differences between BSP and NPT. Aaron spink speaking for myself inc. |

I think we need something more basic, maybe pictures of NPT and G 1/4 fittings, with details on the pro's and con's
Guess I make something for the C-Systems FAQ sections. Thanks anyways all. |

I'll start you off with BSPT and BSPP
![]() BSPT is the taper thread with thread sealant CM. BSPO uses the o-ring to complete the seal, but you can seal it with PTFE table id you don't have an o-ring. I might be able to get a few more together yet. |

It migth also be usefull if anyone has links to (pneumatics) fittings suppliers. In the UK I often suggest:
http://www.airlines-pneumatics.com/w...duct-index.asp https://secure.thorite.co.uk/index.html http://www.ihp.co.uk/store/ as well as the big components suppliers http://www.rswww.com http://www.farnell.com/ But I've never found an suppliers accross the water when folks ask for parts links in the US or Canada. |

1/4" NPT Fittings.
Brass fittings, modded by me (thread length trimmed to 8mm and ID Hole to 9mm) ![]() Polyamide (Technyl) fitting. ![]() Dave, Is there any chance to C-Systems sells plastic fittings (Delrin?) with proper thread length and hose options? G 1/4 - 3/8 barb G 1/4 - 1/2 barb 1/4 NPT - 3/8 barb 1/4 NPT - 1/2 barb By this way, European will be avoid of wrong length threads at G 1/4. |
