Who's the new Newegg?
Ok, I've had it. Who's the new Newegg? Newegg's gotten very difficult to deal with and maybe they've run their cycle like so many others from ComputerTimes, so who's the new Newegg? The new vendor that has the stuff I want to buy with the shipping and return policies that are reasonable? Does anyone know?

It was a combination of the fact that they have now "said" that any order in which a freebie or combo is used cannot be returned for credit (even with the 15% restocking fee). I got a heatsink with a window sticker for my son and couldn't return it, so what do I have? A 9800 pro heatsink that I might be able to use for a passbank at work. It IS a good heatsink, that just wasn't the real problem.
And they are slower in their delivery, It's now a solid week for delivery by UPS. At least for G-Skill memory. So who's the new hot vendor?

I've personally had very good luck with mWave.com Orders are almost always shipped same day and the one time I had a return (funky mobo) they replaced it with a different one of my choice with just one phone call.

I've always had good luck with NewEgg, but I always choose FedEx for shipping. UPS is always slow. FedEx might be a bit more expensive, but it's almost always just a few days before I get my order.

I typically use the default shipping and lately thats been UPS. And that translates to a week after order for delivery. So, Zipzoomfly may be the new Newegg? Or at least a reasonable facsimile?

ZZF and newegg are both awsome.
Go for fedex express saver on newegg, I always get it a day before they say it will arrive, very fast. I havent found anything better than those two, mwave is good but limited selection and there site is less friendly. |

i been using newegg for eyars, recently gave zipzoomfly a chance and liked my experience a lot, and even more so i tried out www.jab-tech.com and i think for me that's the new newegg. Then again i like xoxide too but that's cause their 1 state over, shipipng is fast and cheap.

The biggest reason I use NewEgg is their awesome product search features. I just haven't found another site with as nice a search system as theirs. They need to update it a bit, as some areas aren't as good as others, but for stuff like motherboards, processors, and video cards it's the best I've found. Before NewEgg I was a big Tiger Direct person, but NewEgg is better for search, and better for shipping as well.

NewEgg, ZZF, MWave, I've had very good luck with all of them. I still use NewEgg out of ease of use - one stop shop.
Does anyone remember when NewEgg's site was a mirror image of MWave (but better prices)??? |
