Default About to embark on H20 cooling - seeking advice

Greetings everyone! I have just registered and this is my first post, so please bear with me!

I just purchased an Athlon Thunderbird 1.4 GHz cpu with the AYHJA "Y" stepping, so I think I should be able to hit at least 1.7 GHz if I watercool my system. Now for my question: what is the best all-around system for this configuration? I am looking to spend roughly $150 (possibly more if the need arises). I am currently considering an in-line pump with a separate reservior, a 240mm radiator, a copper waterblock, and 2 120mm fans. Would this be a suitable set-up? If so, which components would you recommend? and which sites are the best to purchase them from?

I have noticed complete kits at www.cool-computers.com and other sites, but those have a submursible pump, which I do not prefer. I would like something more robust than the included Rio pump.

If anyone feels like chatting about it, please feel free to send me a message on ICQ or AIM (28620555 or ARColeslaw). Thanks!!

I usually do not reply to my own posts, but here it goes...

I just found the Maze2 Socket A kit at DangerDen. This kit appears to include all of the top components you could want in a nice package at a tolerable price. Is this a recommended kit? It appears that the cooling cube radiator is out of stock, but they should be shipping again next week. I think I might just splurge and get this package, which means that I will need to eat plain rice for a few weeks to make up for this!

I recomend it.

but don't bother getting the kit w/pelt.

you need at least 200watts to cool it.

Will I need to get a copper shim to go under the waterblock cooler, like those found on www.cool-computers.com ??

I hate to keep doing this, but these forums are very active...

Besides a tupperware container, what is the best solution for a reservoir? I want something that is very tightly sealed. Also, I will have an external pump, so I do not need a reservoir/pump combo. Thanks!

You can get what is known as a Marine Junction box at your local hardware store. They come in various sizes and have a sealed top.
