what do you guys use to polish your water block (copper)
what works best? what looks best? which is the most durable? and where do you get it/ how much$? along with any techniques you use havent really researched this... but i have a new box design that needs to have nice lookin blocks in it... thanks in advance Last edited by DigitalChaos; 01-25-2002 at 10:35 AM. |

crytex (green scotch brite pad) works really good, U can even find it in differnt gritts. Also when you get a nice shine to it, Clear coat the block with spray paint, NOT THE BOTTOM THOUGH!!!! NEVER PUT ANYTHING ON THE BOTTOM, NO POLISH, NUTTIN!!!!

What i actually meant was what do you apply to it after all the sanding has been done.
You know of anything besides spray paint? |

Try a clear polyurathane coat. Most of what you find will come in spray form. Bladerunner i believe uses a laquer

You won't stop copper oxidising with just polish, some types of polish might be better than others but you'll only delay the inevitable dulling for a short period. Like said here cellulose lacquer works well but it needs to be applied in the right way to avoid a mess, and handled carfully once done.
