I wondered, buying a thermochill PA160 and 3/8 to 1/2 barbs for it... do I need PFTE tape or do the barbs have it on, the O-Cuk guide says it will have it on but pictures obviously dont so..

Depends on the thread type. if they're NPT or BSPT, then yes, If they're BSPP (Parallel) then no, and use an o-ring for the fittings instead.
