Default Snap Server 4100 Heatsink/Fan/Retainer

I am in desperate need of finding a heatsink/fan and retainer for the snap server 4100 processor. My fan died and I tried to do a hack to get something to work (which didn't work for long) and somehow managed to lose the retainer for the heatsink and fan. So I really need to find one so that my snap server can stay alive and running. Does anyone know where I might be able to find these items. I haven't had any luck on ebay or other places like that.

Thanks!

Chaitanya

Default Re: Snap Server 4100 Heatsink/Fan/Retainer

In the 3 4100's I owned, the retainer was not needed. The lock on the socket for the CPU was sufficient and the heatsink itself was permanently (glued) mounted to the CPU. So, if the fan is bad, just unscrew the old one from the heatsink and screw on a new one. If your heatsink is not permanently attached, and you don't mind it being permanently attached, get some arctic silver epoxy and mount the heatsink/fan of your chpice (be sure of clearnaces first). JB Weld also works well and is a decent thermal conductor.
