Default First Water-cooled system...A few questions!

Long time reader, first time poster....

This is what I have in mind:

Maze-II 3/8"
Eheim 1048 (prolly submerged)
Reservoir (home-made out of plexi)
BlackIce II Rad
3/8" t00bing

Now for the questions:
1) Is there a real difference between the 3/8" Maze-II and the 1/2" one? (My local dealer only has the 3/8" )

2) Is the eheim REALLY silent? (The aim is to attain close to zero noise.)

3)Is running the pump submerged a good idea or should I run it inline? (Again, thought of submerging it so as to totally silence it.)

My specs are:

T-bird 1.33 (intended for Oc'ing!)
NO CASE COOLING
Ibm 60GXP
other crap...

So, if you'd tell me what you guys think, I'd be very grateful.

they are the exact same blocks, but the fittings are 3/8" instead of 1/2", it's more for integration into a system than better flow rates.

Eheims are virtually silent, and will be quieter under water, which sort of answers your last question, they are fine inline, but quieter when in a resivoir
