Default Tom's Hardware Guide Watercooling

It must be getting closer to being mainstream... haven't read the whole thing yet, but it looks really inclusive.

Ok, I just finished it... pretty weak by the standards set here. But not bad because it has a ton of pictures, which I always like. They use really skinny tubing, though.

With a price cap of $115, their goal was not maximum overclocking, but economy overclocking. The bad parts of their system is that newer, faster, hotter chips will not work with this system, and it takes a ton of extra desk space. I prefer the radiator and pump to be self contained in the case. Still, it is a good demo for Duron overclockers.

Dangerden Maze2 $ 42 (Dangerden.com)
Magdrive 250 $ 34 (petsmart.com)
Cube Radiator $ 55 (dangerden.com)
10' 3/8" tubing $ 5 (Home Depot)
--------------------------
$136

Considering you can get a good radiator at a car parts place for under $40, you can do much better than Tom's hardware did for the same amount of money.

After reading that article it seems to me that Tom took the Senfu Water Cooler and called it his. Anyone else felt this way? One more thing? Where does this guy get his prices?

I thought the review was funny. Anytime I see someone "ohhh"ing and "Ahhh"ing at a Senfu, I always get a good laugh

you can build a TOP OF THE LINE cooling rig for 30$ more. it will be safer, more robust, and WILL work on current chips.

So... Senfu is SUCH a great deal... I hope more sites keep reviewing them.. I need more humor in my day

Hey, Senfu double-rad is not bad at all, once you've dremeled out those input barbs to their natural 3/8" size... Most serious tests find it to be quite efficient, it's quite like DD cube.

Ah also it's a good thing that such a mainstream site as Tom's speaks about watercooling. That means more ppl will get to know about it, and buy products, which means more products and more quality ! And office mates wont look at us like freaks anymore...

Yeh Dave, I saw that BEAT to shit core they were using in that test, left overs from 3 different color thermal pastes, chips out of the core.. it was SAD... dont those damn guy have the money to buy a clean 40$ duron!?

Or learn how to put thermal paste on?

the Senfu radaitor is .. well crap. if you need to dremel it out JUST to get it to work right thats crap when you can get a DDCube, OCWC radiators, BeCool AquaCoil for reasonable prices.

I was always under the impression that Tom was full of shit. He was great during the P5 days but now he seems a little too bias for me.
