Default Heater Core for Radiator?

I'm looking to build an inexpensive watercooling system, for I'm tired of the loud noise my FOP38 makes, and possible would like to OC a little more. (currently D600at900). My question is I plan on making my own water block, and purchasing a pond inline water pump, but as for radiator I don't want to goto a junk yard but I want something cheap. Today I went to Autozone and asked about small radiators, he said my best bet would me a heater core, with looked like a radiator and was about 5"x12", my question is how well would this perform or if anyonw has used them.

Thanks
Chris
