sorry for all the potential case questions i have been throwin at you guys, but now i think i finally have a case i AM going to use.
k, i have a standard mid tower that im tryin to fit a: eheim 1250 and a chevette core (shrouded with one 120mm) the blocks dont really matter but i will tell you them so you know how much tubing will be in the way, im gonna have a cpu, chipset, video, and hard drive block. my biggest problem is finding a place for the chevette core (~6" wide and 7" tall). here is the thing, i want to have a window over the mobo, and i want the heater core to be IN the case. this doesnt leave me with any real options. ![]() there is the internals. i would prefer to keep all the drive rails there, and assume that all of them will be filled (for expansion), along with all the cards on the mobo. now i can move drive rails, the power supply, whatever it may be. but if ANYONE can think of a way to do this and make it look good. let me know. |

well, since you are watercooling a lot of stuff, and are cramped for space, you might want to consider using 3/8 inch ID tubing instead of 1/2 inch, as that will take up less space.
remove the lower hdd racks, and mount your hdd(s) in one of your 5 1/4 inch bays. put the core where the hdd racks are. consider 25mm thick fans instead of 38mm thick ones, and use a relatively shallow shroud. to save space, try to put the core between the bezel and the front of the chassis. you'll have to squeeze the pump behind the core. really, the BI prime would be a better choice for this lol. |

Put the heatercore up at the top were the PSU noramly, make a hole for the out going air of the heatercore. Then put the PSU in the front of the case where those 2 drive bays are. Your gonna wanna take the plug out of the PSU nd relocate it on the back of the case. Then if u only have 2 5.25" drives u can if the eheim in the other open 2. If thats not happening put the eheim on the bottom of the case in front of the PSU.

I dislike radiators in the top of the case. I would probably take a look at Una's Little Stealth2:
http://www.procooling.com/articles/h...h_2_-_un.shtml and see if I could incorporate some of those ideas. |

With small cases it is always a tradeoff between equipment and drive bays
![]() I am not sure if there is space there or not, but have you thought about mounting the heatercore on the side of the case (sorta behind the 3.5" bays)? If it would fit, you could duct a fan to blow through and then probably still fit the eheim 1250 where the lowest 3.5" cage is. That would mean you'd get all the 5.25s and the top 3.5" bays, and the loop would be pretty neat and out of the way. |

If u put it behind the drive bays it would over lap the motherboard.

Only possibly. A HDD is also around 6" long, so the space might be sufficient

hrm... thats a pretty good idea, but would i be pumping the air into the case, or pulling it out? i guess i could just add a duct from the front or something and it wouldnt matter.
could do the bottom but i dont wanna use castors |

When the HDs are in the drive bay they over laptop mobo by a little and the heatercore is a little longer them most hard drives so its not gonna fit. Also you want to put the heatercore in a place where the exiting hot air will leave the case right away and not be putting all that heat right back into the case to heat the other parts of the system.
