Default Is this possible?

I was using my DD Maze2 to cool my Athlon XP 1800+ and decided to get the P4 1.6a a try.

So since I screwed up on the first DD order and got a 478 block, I said "what the hell". Now with my Athlon the best I could ever get was 30C. With this P4 1.6a (running 138x16 @1.650volts) the highest temp has been 11C. I ran prime95 for over six hours today and it never moved over 11C.

I still can't believe this can run that much cooler. Is the on-die therm sensor right?

What's your ambient temp. If it's above 11C and you aren't using pelts then something is wrong with the sensor. If you are using pelts then that may well be correct as Intel chips are lower powered than AMD chips.

This is too funny but it ended up being the bios for my motherboard. I flashed up to the current version and the temp went straight to 36C.

So much for that!
