New h2o setup! Questions:
1) Do you guys recommend the Eheim 1048 (128 GPH) or the 1250 (317 GPH)? Is the 128 GPH strong enough for a h2o system? 2) What are the dimensions of the above two eheim pumps (LxWxH)? Thanks |

Oh, and where would be the best place (price/reliability) to buy these pumps?

for the small differance in price, I'd go with the bigger one, DDen sells them, and I'm fairly sure they have the dimensions on their site too

I have a eheim 1046 79GPH that runs fine with a maze1 and ford escort heatercore in the look. And then I have a 1048 in my main computer with another ford escort heatercore and a maze2 both systems are 3/8" tubing. I really love the eheims
worth the money they ask by alot.

The 1048 is smaller and cooler and I suspect the differece in performance with a heatercore and typical block is nil. If you have space, then pay the little extra for the 1250. If not then a 1048 would probably be a better idea (particulary if you want quiet over performance, its easier to isolate a smaller, lower power pump).

It really depends on the hardware you're putting the pump with. If you have high resistance hardware like a blackice, blackice extreme, and a maze2, you should get the one with higher gph cuz it will help to overcome the resistances. It really doesn't matter too much tho.
