bah, I have that Cpufx pump, and it has been running 24/7 for a couple months so far. No issues at all. I'm wondering where people get the information that the pump was designed to be run on a temporary basis. Does the manufacturer of the pump state that ? I'd really like to know where this data is coming from because I hear it all the time.

I just can't get into the Eheim pump standard. Those Eheims just don't look too good in a case. They look big and clunky. If my Cpufx pump croaks, I'll consider other alternatives, but those Eheims were not designed to be looked at.

What can I say, I'm a fashion whore. One of these days, I'll post some pictures when I get done with my cosmetic mods. I have been too busy lately to continue working on my machine.

I have to figure out which sensitivity mode and other settings get rid of the blur factor when the CC is on. About 50% of those are kinda fuzzy. I guess this is the digicam learning curve. If I turn on automode with flash, it takes nice, crispy pics, but I took most of these on manual mode experimenting.

Anyway, here is a list of what I plan to do next on the rig:

Build and rubber coat a shroud for the Rad
Paint the interior of the case Black
Paint the 120 MM fan blades Blue
Change the LEDs on the Rheobus to blue
Change the knobs for the rheo bus to smaller black or blue knobs
Paint the DSP black
Repaint the DVD rom drive (it looks ghetto IMO)
Replace the floopy cable with a rounded one
Apply a rubber coat to the grey cable for the DSP
Bundle, tie, and rubber coat the mobo pin cables
I'm going to try and mount a dragon statue with a crystal in the middle with blue light coming from it to the top.

Still thinking of more I want to do with this.

could just hook the pump up to an auto sensing power strip....i wonder if theres a way to wire the pump into the power swtich....hmmm i dunno if thats possible cause its a momentary switch, maybe some of yous with more electronics expereience can tell me

Haddy-
You need to use a relay with a 12 volt DC coil and 120 volt contacts. Radio Shack has a few choice on the shelf. Easy to build put it in a small plastic project box. Then you run the 120 volt cord out of the relay "project box" to the line side of the power supply or to a wall plug or to your UPS.

I had a relay but I took it out and run 24/7, would you like to see an image of the thing I built?

Jim, or he could get a nice Square D or Allen Bradley relay with a socket base and make a clean setup. I have so many contactors of all sizes and relays I do not know what to do with them all. The problem most equipment I have either are 120v, 208v, or 480 coil voltage.

Jim, I stripped a bunch of switchgear a few months ago from a sewage plant. I have contactors from NEMA 0 to 6 and control relays and transformers. Bottom line this stuff would be worth thousands upon thousands of dollars. I have stackable N/O – N/C switches and push buttons. Someday I will have a need or a job will come up that I will use the equipment. Both Square D & Allen Bradley contactors can be rebuilt.
