is the WB epoxied to the GPU, or will you use the 'C' clamp to hold it on?

Its held by the clamp. Its acrylic but thankfully strong enough.

Hey, on the back of your vid card is that regular silicone like GE's Silicone 2 becuase if it is I would watch out becuase theres problems with acetic acid eating away the board. I used regular silicone on my mobo to protect against condensation and it doesn't work anymore.

serka, actually I have coated the back with nail varnish before adding the layer of silicone. Its Shelley's clear silicone which seems to work ok for my previous attempts. Its there more to serve as a cushion than condensate proof.

Hey, umm, just to let you know, the Radeon 8500 runs REAL cool, seems a little overboard to pelt cool one.

Do you even have one? Maybe mine was built differently from yours. I'm also going to utter a little magic word here... VMOD!

Seriously that is fantastic stuff! That clamp is beautiful, but is there any risk of it sliding off or twisting off somehow? plus that looks like a real PCI slot killer

Oh, I agree, this is procooling. Just the pelt wasn't really needed (tho is very cool).

I do have a Radeon 8500, stock cooling isn't great, and I guess if you overclock it, it can get hot.. but it really doesn't get too hot, especially copmared to Geforce 4's, etc.

with a voltage mod to the mem and core, it should get a nice OC.

I have my GPU core voltage at 1.86v and it does 3Dmark without crashing at 340 mhz. Any higher does not help. My memory does 340 mhz without artifacts at 4.06V, used to get artifacts at 340 when aircooling my core, I think its due to the hot air from the GPU.
What are you guys getting?
I think the cold plate is enough to protect the GPU from frying cos I forgot to turn on the pelt PSU just now and it was still doing windows desktop at 350mhz core, 1.97v. Crashed as soon as I started 3D mark.

300 / 300 w/ CrOrb and plated RAMsinks. its not entirely stable tho (i have very high standards for stability, it must not lock under any circumstances, and it must display properly (as in no artifacts, glitches, discolored tectures, etc)).

with nothing on the ram and a crorb on the gpu with frag tape I get 280core/330ram on my LE. however I was lucky since this $105 card has 3.3ns ram on it I gotta do a vmod someday. Any idea if the crorb can handle a vmodded 8500 gpu?
