i know people have used this humidifier bacteria treatment in bong setups and it's been effective (especially since bong setups get a lot more bacteria/algae growth). it seems like it'd be great for any watercooling setup without any of the possible negatives of windshield wiper fluid, chlorine, or bleach.
(I must have read that too fast! You're right!)

Ok, so you setup a closed system, with a tiny hole on top of the res (for pressure differences), and a floating lid on top of the liquid, which will minimize evaporation. Voila.

That product seems fine, first hand, but I'd have to know more. Right now, what I see is a white bottle labeled "Bacteria treatment". For all we know, it's got bleach in it...

from this link, it looks like the humidifier bacteria treatment has n-Alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chlorides.

oh well that makes perfect sense then.

I don't think it is that toxic. This stuff is made for humidifiers, so it's safe to breathe. The fact that it has active ingredients doesn't neccessarily make it anymore toxic than shampoo.
