Alright here is my setup ...
ATC-201 modded out ![]() Intel OR840 (2) 1ghz PIII Slot 1 2 gigs of pc800 RDRAM GF2 GTS II prophet Roughly thats my setup, as of now its all hsf cooled and I really want to go to watercooling, BUT I want to do it not too overclock (I cant afford to mess up things and I have another play pc for that) but to be more efficient and QUIET!!! All silent, this is my graphics workstation basically and I want silence hehe. I am new to h20 as well so please give me ideas hints or what not on maybe ways to go. I think I would even like to include my gf2 into the loop and cool that with h20, right now it has alphas and a blorb on it. Thanks ![]()

Water is quiet, so if thats what you want its the way to go. But its expensive and dual is more complex them many people start out with. Keep that in mind.
I'd check out Procooling's articles (there is one on SMP cooling) as well as my entries in this FAQ http://www.kpod.co.uk/ars/ (water is at the bottom). Sorry if thats general, but I'm going to sleep now. |

I would get a heatercore that can accomodate dual 120mm fans. Then grab two JMC 120mm fans. They are quite quiet. The Eheim 1250 is a very quiet pump (virtually inaudible) as long as you put it on a soft surface like a sponge. I'm not sure what the reccommended way to wire a dual CPU rig is w/ hose...

Im all for lots of work so I do understand this is going to be one hella of alot of work. I was perhaps thinking of running one setup however with two pumps. What does the term closed loop mean in h20? I was thinking perhaps pump --> radiator --> procs --> resovoir: that would be for just the proc setup, im trying to think how I would ad the gpu in. Anyone on this forum have this kind of setup?

Would you suggest I use an inline pump or submerged? I am not sure if there is a noise\performance diff between the two or what not....

![]() ![]() Have a look at the build project as it may give you some ideas. Stealth Cooling Project It's not finished yet but I got down to one fan in the entire system, (PSU), and the hdd'S were then the noisiest items, although with a little cheating I had total silence briefly. I split to all blocks via the manifolds you can see at the bottom, which is better than going through all the blocks with one pipe run. I'm also using an Eheim 1250 which can be used submerged or inline, you can see a pic of it submerged in the project link and a earlier pic of it inline HERE, (with my pet slug "Boris" in the background ![]()

A large radiator is nice, but requires serious modding to fit in. I'd go with a DTek heatercore and 1 120mm fan. That should be plently. 2 CuMines still put out less heat then a single 1.4Ghz TBird or higher P4, so you should be fine.
Pump: Most good pumps will work either way. That said most people use them inline because its easier and works the same. Get an Eheim if you can afford it. Its definately worth the cost. |

A side benefit of putting the pump inline is that it doesn't heat the water as much. My 1060 gets quite warm, but by having it inline instead of submurged it doesn't dump all that heat into the water but into the case air which is separate from the air that the radiator uses.
