I have two comps right next to each other and the wife just gave the okay for water cooling (due to financial expenditure, lol). I will try the bong cooling for adventure but I am going to be greedy and try to cool botha slot a and socket a. Most of the tubing will be 1/2"id, except for the slot waterblock (I have not found one that has 1/2"id yet). Iam trying to get 2 flowmeters and a valve to balance flow. I was thinking of getting a compunurse to monitor temps. My problem is the pump. I can't afford the eheims like I could afford the magdrives and the 950 gph is very cheap. would this be enough. I am probably gonna have to buy the emi shielding spray to protect my monitors due to the strong field that this pump must radiate.

hmmmm...are we talking a single bong tower to cool both CPUs? For the double tubbing you're gonna need a lot of pump power. Probably a Danner Model 7 at the least. Your idea to balance flow with a valve is a good one, you're gonna want to do this as best you can to ensure balanced temps/flow between the 2 CPUs. I would try to avoid "Y" junctions as best you can as they are murderous on flow rates. Also I wouldn't make your bong too tall as the flow on Danners drops very quickly once you go over about 3 feet of lift. One thing to remember with a bong, air flow is critical!!

yep a single tower, for the wye connection I was not going to use a barb but instead either a copper tubing or plastic one (made of the same material as the flow valves and regulator in lowes). For the pump I am thinking of a 950 danner for 63 bucks in petwarehouse. Eheims are too expensive. I am going to need a new case any suggestions I am giving my old comp to my mom. Gives me an excuse to get "new" stuff (more like used by somebody else and either buy or trade).

decodeddiesel can you pleace explain the difference and pro/cons in flow between a Y-junction and the valveconstruction.

well a "Y" connector has no way to distribute the flow evenly. In other words the water is not going to go evenly through both sides, rather the water will flow more on the side that has less "resistance" or creates less back pressure. Also the ID of even a 1/2" Y is LESS than 1/4" so it's going to constrict flow greatly. If you were to build your own "Y" connector with 2 ball valves on each of the outs then have a flow meter right after the split you could tweak each of the valves untill you had matching flow. This is hard to describe here, but basically I'm thinking a brass fitting comming off the OUTPUT of the pump with a valve on each side. It would probably be much easier to try this with 2 smaller pumps then join them at the showerhead in the bong than to try this, but I think with 2 valves acting as flow limiters you could do it.

My plan might be too ambitious but oh well. I am going to start with one then put the other one in the loop, eventually. I already got a "shower" (garden) head. I am wondering where to get a low cost flow meter. I saw some ball valves but they were BIG! I'll keep looking.

It would probably be cheaper to go with 2 danner mag 5's and have one feed each system from the one resivoir, then have the flow converge at the shower head where you could bring the 2 1/2" lines together to a single 3/4" for the tower and not loose much flow at all. This would also make it easier to add the 2nd system at a later date, because you would in essence have 2 simple systems just sharing the tower it's self not 1 complex system cooling 2 CPU's.

You took the thought right out of my head. That was mor or less exactly what I was thinking about but not sure how to implement. The thing I don't like is that I am going to have to buy two pumps. Let me see if I can get some other ideas with some guys at work while I am painting and prepairing the bong,
