Default air trap hose placement ideas

i'm in the early planning stages for my next rig. its gonna be a spir@l, heatercore, eheim 1250 and everything like i have now, just a different case with much more room than my inwinq500 case. one of the main problems i'm having is air bubbles that wont get out of the system, or that keep gettin into the system.... i think a main factor of this is the air trap (12oz rc fuel tank) being at the bottom of the case with the pump.

i want to put the air trap and possible the pump at a higher point in the system instead of the bottom of the case but then i got to thinking were exactly to put the hoses/barbs on the air trap...... would it be best to put the input at the top or bottom and output vice versa. i currently have input near the top and output at the bottom. this would be best for a possible leak situation so i can run the system as long as possible but what, if any, would the advantages be of having the output near the top..???

or you coul skip the tank idea and go for all hose, and just have a T crossing as high as you can get it, higher than everything else and itll do the job really nice.

my original rig did have a "fill line" and i didnt like how long... days ... it took for the whole system to bleed.

actually yesterday i topped off the air trap and spent 10 minz cycling the pump on and off and it runs very very smoothly and without a ton of air bubbles in the system.....

I have been thinking about a bypass loop to allow me to plumb in a res and adjust flow rates when initially filling and then just bypass that and remove it after everything is air-free. Sort of a twist on the Swiftech 3 valve system. Another thought I had was to make the fill/bleed area be integrated into the top of a 1pass heatercore so that there would be no way for air to get trapped in the rad. This would require rad placement on the upper rear of case most likely, with a cap on the the top of case that could simply be opened and filled. Air in the rad is the hardest thing to deal with once everything is mounted, and this would solve that problem at least

well actually i spent like 10 minz yesterday and properlly blead the system and to my suprize (not sure why but still...) it works perfectly fine... i guess i was expecting it to bleed itself over time and when it didnt i just got pissed at it....lol

and i do have my rad mounted above my psu... hell i should just use my dremel on the top of rad and plug it up when i'm done...
