Default mini LCDs

i kinda have an idea to make a headset that has mic/headphones/lcd on it so i can have an all-in-one headset. only problem im having is finding the smaller LCDs (and a way to control it). the ones im looking for are like the size of those on digital cameras like a Kodak DC220 (1.5" by 2"????). if they make these, would they be capable of doing 16bit and 32bit color if possible? if anybody has any links or ideas to help out, please post!
the reason for a crazy project like this is that i thought it would be cool to show up with one of these instead of dragging my big clunky monitor around to LAN parties. hopefully all those LCD experts are still around here.

I assume you've got a budget for this?

I think that it's a cool idea. I'd be a hoot to watch people looking at the side/back of your head while you're fraggin' some dude in Quake3...

I'm assuming that you want to display a screen, right? Why else would you want so many colors?

budget? dont need to worry about that. i got a paid a nice amount the other day, so i want to get whatever i need. or at least to get something working.

as for the idea, im just getting sick of having to bringing that damn thing and i thought this would be a pretty cool idea.

and yes i want to display the screen with lotsa colors, gotta make quake3 and cs look good

honestly have no idea how i would start this kind of project, hopefully somebody can post some links on getting started with working on LCDs.

It is a great idea. you can actually buy things like this already (but not cheap)

I suggest getting a pair of those 3d glasses that claim to put a 51 inch tv infront of you via a pair of glasses

I would buy one if i had the money

http://www.i-glasses.com/

there are more out there keep looking

I agree with boltz. Thats the best thing u can go for. Both portable and easy to use. Making your own lCD and mounting it on ur forehead is gonna be hard, especially since goop cant do it (tsk, tsk, tsk ). Plus it would cost u at least 2x the price of those glasses. Have you considered phase change?

I hate to discourage someone scheming to mod, but, I think if you're planning to do two lcds, one per eye, you've got a lot of work ahead, and for head mounted I don't think one LCD will quite cut it. But buying Glasstron or a similar product could get you all the technical parts working(just plug the sucker in). And then you could mod them to a headset and make your gizmo hella cool :P But I think you'd be "unnecessarily using" funds to try to obtain, and configure cutsom LCDs. Hmmm even a nice 17inch LCD it good for lanning, flat, light..... mmmmm sexy.
