Just updated my bios to the latest ASUS beta bios 1011.001. Apparently, my temp readings for the CPU have dropped significantly. My watercooled AthlonXP 2100+ is now sitting at 36C idle and 42C load. Other peeps have said they've seen between a 6C and 7C drop in temp readings. So if anyone has had seemingly high temps on their A7V333, go check that out. It can be had at ftp.asus.com.tw.

The trouble is that you don't know if the temp reading is actually correct now or not, mabie the pre-bios-update reading was right, you have no way of knowing...

i have this board as well....
from what i have read the internal diode is only used for COP in all other cases... the in socket thermister is what displays your temps... maybe the new bios changed that... i assume it was/is just some crafty coding in the bios |

I dont believe Asus used an IC capable of real time temp reporting with their COP system.

Sorry to bring this older thread up but I have noticed a change in my a7v333 temps. I am currently at v1011 and I am getting 59c on load on my xp1800 (watercooled). I did a bit of research on this and I found out to read the internal diode you have to set sensor2 on MBM to asus2 (cusl2). Supposedly this is the correct reading for the xp internal diode on this board. Is this the same thing you guys are using/getting?

The difference is 8-9c(thermistor being lower)...and if i use the thermistor reading the temps change(raise and lower) alot more than if i use the internal diode.

No crafty coding possible; the ics Asus used on earlier mobos just weren't set up for anything more than turning off the computer if the temp reached a certain level. You can adjust this number on some ics, and on others it is preset at the factory.
Not certain that is the case here through. |

I agree pHaestus...I have rev 1.02 of this board, and I'm trying to find out if this was added to this or earlier revs of this board...unless somebody knows this for certain? The temps *seem* right, but i would like to make sure..
