Hey everyone! I'm a newbie to water cooling and I had a question:
I have 2 oz. purple ice in a half gallon of distilled water and i'm wondering if adding 2 oz of Prestone antifreeze would work as a biocide because i heard that alcohol can crack acrylic and that antifreeze might work as a biocide. any suggested alternatives to use as a biocide (besides alcohol??) if the antifreeze doesn't work ? note: my waterblock is a dtek tc-4 revision 2 Thank you!!! ![]() |

I think purple ice is a biocide, so thats probably enough. If not, then yes, antifreeze is very toxic and will clean your system of microbes.

water wetter does the trick.. as far as I know.. I've never had slimey tubes when I had the right amount of WW in.. But the anti-freeze will definetly work.. Use an ethylene glycol based one.
