Default FS: 2" Clear Acrylic Tubing- You Choose Length!

/boring story
Here's the deal: I went down to my plastics supplier recently to pick up some nice acrylic for my res/airtrap. To my dismay, they refused to sell me just 14" of it. So, I was forced to buy a 6' piece. Now, I would normally be happy to keep the other 4'10" of acrylic tube, but I am already going past my budget on this project. So, I need to unload this tube on you guys!
/boring story

The Details: 2.000" OD x 1.750" ID Clear Extruded Acrylic Tube. Cost to me for 6' length: $16.22. Here is a link to exactly what you are getting, and as you can tell, this is a very decent price.

Cost per inch is *SORRY ALL GONE*

Cutting is free if you choose for me to cut it using a hand saw, but no guarantees it will be perfect. Since you will likely be using end caps, any small chips I might make will be rendered invisible anyway. If you decide you want perfection, I can take the tube down to my supplier ( Ridout Plastics ), and they can cut it using their high pressure water cutter for $2 a cut.

If you are already dreaming of the possibilities for this tube, you could have the whole thing for $15. But this would be costly and a PITA to ship and you would have to cut it yourself. So I would prefer if I could sell it in 6"-18" lengths.

If, by now, you are still confused as to why I would be selling this in a WC forum, just look at this thread to get an idea of what you can accomplish.

So just tell me how much you want to reserve, in this thread, then I can easily keep track of who wants what. First come first serve, but there's really plenty enough for 5 decent pieces, so no need to rush.

Shipping would be different for every order, but let's say a 12" piece to Omaha, NE would be around $4.50 using USPS Parcel Post. This is just an estimate using the USPS website, but I doubt it would be more than $6.

UPS is quite a bit more, $7.80 for the same order.

I don't want any "handling charges," so the total price would be "inches x 0.25 + shipping."

Do you have a link for those fittings?

I could be in for 12 inch.

I have no idea, but as far as I know a standard 2" endcap should work. I haven't gotten fittings for mine yet, but mine will be quite different from Turbokeu's. If you look at Turbokeu's post, you'll notice that he uses 50mm tube and endcaps, which is approx. 2 inches.

i would be interested in 2 12" lengths (or a 24" length if you're feeling lazy)

24 X .25 = $6

so....does 10 bucks shipped sound good?

Yeah, that sounds good tim-may. I'll have to see what the shipping comes out to once I get your info, which you can send to koslov@pacbell.net. But somewhere in that range would be appropriate. I can cut it in two 12" pieces for you, using my hacksaw to the best of my abilities. If you want the water jet cutting, that would be an extra $4 ($2 per cut).

Also, for anyone wanting a piece larger than 12", I would have to buy a box because I don't have any on hand for tubes bigger than that.

imatation, I have not gone to the hardware store yet to look for fittings, but I will probably go tomorrow. It shouldn't be a problem.

ok check your email. no thanks on the water jet cutting though. if you could do a half-assed straight cut to make them eachg 12", that would be cool.

is it ok to pay you with paypal??

Well, I did some calculations, and let's just say it would be unwise to pay shipping equal to 1700% of the value of the product (around $50).

If you still have 24" 18" or 12" of tubing... Email me @ webmasta33@cox.net I'm ready to buy it.

68046 is the shipping zipcode.

here... what id id was just bought a 3" and 4" disc from usp (had to sand down the 3" a tad to get it to fir tho was way to tight) and then i glued it onto the 4" (with acrylic glue) and then glued it onto the tube first using a jig saw to cut it close and then sanded it all down smooth it turned out nice. but this one i tried to use CPVC cement and it cracked a bit. so i bought acrylic glue and that worked like a charm.

im making some reses if anybodys interested in them mine are 3" ID 3 1/2" OD tho. (not flaming just giving tips on how to do it)

also this was taken before it was finish saded at the bottom.
