Default Eheim question.....

I am looking to buy this pump http://www.petwarehouse.com/webstore...c?OpenDocument

You see how this one has no intake attachment. I was wondering if you take that shroud off is there npt threads for me to attach a barb to? Is it M or F? What NPT size?

Thanks again.

If you take a look at: www.eheim.com
you will notice that the pump is delivered with a hose connection on the suction side as well.
You can unscrew the hoseconnectors and put a male 5/8" on the inlet or 3/8" on the outlet.
However if you only unscrew the little lightgray nut/washer you can use female connectors instead.
Eheim's homepage states 3/4" and 1/2" but that's the inner diameter of the hose and not the actual fitting inside the pump.

Hope this answers your questions

I forgot to tell you that this pump rocks.
However the flow is so fast that a ordinary T-connector for removing airbubbels dosen't cut it. The flow is so fast that the bubbels in my system, before i made a tank, only went with the water and were so small that it made the water look like i had put milk in it. I've put a tank at the top of my system to let the water flow a little slower so that the small bubbels stand a chance at rising to the surface.

Hope it works out ok for ya

Thanks for the quick relpy.

I am planning on using a res in my system. How much heat does the pump add to the case? I am thinking of putting a fan at the bottom of the case near the pump to suck air out the case and heat away from the pump.

One more question: Can you get down to the female threads on both inlet and outlet?

Thanks

The pump puts out 28W of heat abot 5W is converted to actual flow and the rest is heat in your system.
And yes you can unscrew the male connector and get access to the female connector.
Hope it helps cus this reply was'n quite as swift as the first one.
