At my house i have:
2 750 durons
1 Via 800mhz(not on all the time)
1 800mhz tbird

At my school I am slowly installing it on our new P4 1.8s should have about 12-20 by the time I am done....running it as a service in the background...little do they know, but hey its going to a good cause and no one really uses the potenial of those computers. The amount of time each box is on varies.

Its not a number, it should be in the pull down menu when you login with your new handle, just look for ProCooling. But I do think we are team 1680

Default How to login

I don't know if it was just my retarted self or was it sorta hard to find the page to log into? Just to clear things up if you are wondering you click on High-Flyers at the top of the page then you can choose your team on that page.

Their page sucks, agreed, click on High Flyers then it will ask you to login in, you will then see a series of drop down menus, it should be the last one.

Come on guys, get in on this, HardOCP is number 25 we are currently 87, up from like 200 something, we can beat that ass.... Lets Roll

I'll leave my office PC on at night, for this. Only a P3 @ 1GHz, but better than nothing!

prob is that when i take the command line client (which is normally mucho faster) i offcourse have no pull down stuff. so a team number would definetely be a good thing.

You do it on their website, not on the command prompt, when you are under your settings

I lost my Dual 1.4Ghz athlon from folding right now... it BSOD's any time I start running it. ( btu I can max the CPU's out with heat testing apps and its rock solid... )

dont know what the heck happened.

But I am reloading a 1.8Ghz Xeon here with windows 2000 just so I can get hyper threading gonig on to kick it up a notch

got 2 more 1.8Ghz Xeons coming in today that I can put on

2. how do i make sure my computers folding is associated with procooling, i put procooling in the orginization box when i registered

Edit your profile, and look for the team name. Select ProCooling from the down drop box.

The screen saver is handy. The other one you'd use if you're going to dedicate a box full time to this.

You can set the organization to anything you feel like, but it does not join our team. You need to click on high flyers, login, then under team choose our team from the drop down menu.

As far as difference between text and screensaver:
Text runs all the time, not just when you are not using your computer, but it still is low priority process so it takes second to anything else the computer needs to do.

The text one also runs FASTER than the screensaver, not having to draw the pictures.

Also, if you have the ram, use the 150 megs it helps alot.

I will probably be converting all my systems over to Folding (now that the RC5-64 project is over with).

However, I feel the need to remind everyone that it is considered ILLEGAL to run a program like Folding in the background on machines that you do not have EXPLICIT permission to do so. I remember a while back an article about a professor who was arrested, jailed, and fined a hefty amount for running RC5-64 on a server he was in charge of at a university because he did NOT have permission from the university to do so.

I would recommend to anyone that is considering using school/work/organization systems to crunch numbers in the background without writen permission from their "higher powers" to think twice about doing so.

Just a friendly reminder.

Cheers!
