Default Hose is colapseing

The hoses on my system have started to colapse on themselves. I don't quite know why. They were all fine when I filled the system. (closed loop) But now. . . I am getting crappy temps because the flow rate sucks. Any idea what caused this and how I can fix it? On the air trap line, I have pulled the plug on it, and the water just sits at that one level. I know there is some flow, because I can watch my temps skyrocket if I pinch off a hose. Any ideas on a fix?

<edit> mb monitor is saying 64 right now, and it is a stock 1.4 not overclocked, default voltage, dangerden 2 block and a black ice rad. It is a danner 5 pump </edit>

Spiral wrap on the tubing where it is collapsing or else switch to silicone

agreed... spiral loom might hold it together, but I would suggest a switch to silicone. Doesnt get brittle around the fittings and doesnt melt at 60C.

even with silicone you may need to use the sprial loom wrap. But Silicone is just a great material to work with.

I have the same pump and same "problem". Except my temps are fine. I am gonna get silicon to fix it. I caused my problem cause when I filled my closed loop(for the 30th time in 2 days that it took to get everything setup how I wanted) I kinked one of the lines and it just sort of kinked a bit down the rest of the line.

It's the cheap silicone tubing that you are using, I had that problem before, not anymore. Do a search on this forum of a post I wrote about tubing, i purchased mine from www.westmarine.com , very thick walled, does not collaspe.

Thanks everyone. I have been useing my water trap tube belive it or not to add water to the system, and makeing the water pressure the same all around hopefully. It has been helping, but I have to uncork it every so often (day or 3) When I make my next rig I am going to go with 1/2 inch silicone tubeing. The spiral loom worked sort of, it helps. Temps are not skyrocketing anymore.

You might want to try adding an airtrap. This happens because the water is evaporating VERY slowly through your tubing. Think of it like this..

E.X. An air ballon, seems airtight, leave it overnight full and it's lost about 1/3 of it's air. This is because there are TINY holes in the tubing, that let a minute amount of water molecules through every day.

Dude, I do have a Air Trap. Heh. I am going to be converting to silicone tubeing after I get my other rig back up. One project at a time.

If you're gonna get silicone I suggest going to http://www.mcmaster.com and ordering the thickest OD for the ID you have. For eg if you have a 1/2" rig, I reccomand purchasing the 1/2"ID x 3/4"OD stuff. I promise you it will not collapse/kink/droop like the lousy vinyl stuff.
