I think i wanna add peltier to my watercooling system. I wanna know which one i should get for my XP 2400. I'm thinking bout either a 226w or 220w. Which one do ya'll think would be better for me. I also have the Spir@l waterblock. Am i gonna be able to use this block or am i gonna have to buy a new block.
thanks kevin |

I am sure that for that processor the biggest one you can get, the better. However dont overlook the fact that with that CPU and with say a 226W peltier, your watercooling loop will have to be able to handle a heat load somewhere around 300W+! Keep in mind that when youare using a pelt, you are removing the heat from the CPU (between 70W -> 100W) AND the heat being produced by the pelt, which can be as high as the rating of the pelt itself (gurus out there, correct me if I am wrong).
Also, GET A STRONG SEPARATE PSU for the pelter. I know a few guys around here that use 15V PSU rated for 40A. Probably not a bad idea to have a bit of overkill in the Amperage range when setting up this project. One last thing, make sure to use LOTS of insulation to keep condensation away from the MB. I will leave the more indepth details to our pelt gurus out there ![]() Good luck!

go read my reply on the other forum about the spir@l. Repost it if you want to have these guys shoot it down or approve of it.

You can get a cold plate damn near anywhere that sells metal stock. There are alot of online merchants that will cut it to size. You'll just need to sand it to a shine. Also, you're going to need to find a way to bolt the thing to your block. Pelts need massive pressure (100-150 psi) to be maximally efficient. Keep that in mind when looking at your spiral. There are many condensation prevention tutorials everywhere, so read up. And don't skimp on the psu unless you're real ghetto and want to be tinkering with it alot. I know I'll get flamed for this, but you don't need a 226 for a XP2400 as they're supposed to be the same W load as a 2000 ... you could get away with a 176 or so, methinks, though your temps won't be as good. If you're looking for crazy overclocks, you might as well go for the stronger pelts ... no real reason not to unless you're concerned about power usage. Expect to spend in the neighborhood of $200 before all is said and done.

For the rad I would go with a 86 Chevette or 89 Camaro heater core. As for the PSU I would get the Meanwell from Dangerden.com

For the rad I would go with a 86 Chevette or 89 Camaro heater core with a shroud and 120mm fan. As for the PSU I would get the Meanwell from Dangerden.com
