the worst mistake I ever made was switching from a GF2 to a Radeon1. I won't get burned by ATi again; nvidia for me.

I went from 3dfx (Long Live) to ATI. Never had driver problems, unstability, or bad performance. They only problem I did have is I couldn't run a couple demos, but my friend could with the same card.

I'll hafta dig up some links, but 500Mhz or 1Ghz DDR doesn't equal 48G bandwidth, its like 20 something. I don't know the formula for calculating bandwidth.

Also 20k+ 3dmark points? Come on we all now 3dmark is cpu limited, at default tests its not gonna be much faster if at all then the 9700.

I thought about waiting it out for NV30 but I decided that I couldnt wait that long So far I have tried 3dfx (1, 2, & 3), Nvidia, and now ATI. I can safely say now that very happy with my Radeon 9700 but still want to crank some more juice out of it. Maybe when I get done tweaking it all out, it will be JUST as fast as the NV30 Then I will be very happy

Otherwise I only had one complaint about ATI and their drivers and I hope that will be the last.

The first roundup of info is up:

Note the lack of significant info at the less desirable websites...

I think you have an extra 'r' in there. Isn't it simply [H]ypeT[h]reading now?
