I've been using my old water cooling setup and it works quite well but with my new case (Lian Li PC82 basically same size as 60 series) I can't fit my radiator in anymore.
My current inventory Swiftech MCW-462 U Eheim 1046 (yes, the 90 GPH version not the 1048) Aluminum rad from CrazyPC. Looking mainly for a good radiator that will fit in the PC60 without modding. The Black Ice Xtreme seems to work well here because it will fit in the bottom of the case. That is after I remove the extra HDD bays at the bottom and drill out the riveted cage part on the bottom. There seems to be a lot of hate for the Black Ice though (according to the buyer's thread on madonion) but I need to know if the Dtek rad will fit in the case. What's the dimensions? Any other suggestions for improving my setup would be appreciated. Not really too happy if I need to change my block, the Hammer motherboards seem to have a different heatsink specification and I will upgrade later if I need too, plus it's more cash I have to spend. Not too sure about the pump, a lot of people go with the 1048 minimum but when I first made the setup I put it against a Magdrive 500 GPH pump and the temperature difference was 1-2 C. Thanks |

I've a Lian Li PC7, similar size & layout. One of the reasons why I bought this case was because of the hard drive enclosure with the fans blowing cooling air over them & it seems a shame to have to dispose of them to fit your watercooling setup inside. For my next venture I'm hanging a Abyss "Deep" rad on the back with a shroud between it & the case extractor fans & a 120mm fan on the outside face of the rad. This way the only thing inside the case will be the water block & a bit of tubing. It's similar to my previous setup but I think looks a bit smarter this time round & should hopefully be more efficient. I'l be posting some pics shortly.
Cheers Chris.

The BIX is a fine radiator for its size. You'd be hard pressed to find a better performer for the size. Really, it prevents you from having to worry about fitting an odd-sized heater core in your system. It's not the best cooler, but not the worst by any means.
