Good luck.

I can't help wonder what makes you say that they are green inside, if you can't open them

What you want is a mild acid solution. If there's a green coating, that's pretty advanced corrosion. If it's just off-orange, then all is still well, after a good cleaning!

You should still be able to use some kind of flexible brush in there.

Microbots!!!

Perhaps some of that stuff thats on TV. CLR? (Calcium, Lime, Rust) or anything like it.

I know I've read about a solution you can mix up, but I cannot remember it .

I saw an article (may have been OCers.com) about cleaning second hand HCs with toilet cleaner, might have been caustic soda, did a job too ...

post link if I find it ...

it's not as comprehensive as I thought...

Two suggestions

Coke
White Vinegar

Try the Vinegar first.

Ever seen coke clean old copper coins of gunky buildup and bring them up shiny new? No? Almost as good as CLR, and we drink the stuff! Just be sure to flush properly afterwards - probably with white vengar eh?

I second the Vinegar
It does do wonders.

Clr should do it too, U could always pack the blocks full of katchup. but that is vinegar.

yo if you use viniger you need to add lemon juice. However, if you're looking down the barbs, it sounds like you've taken off the WB? If so just use some Tarnex, it will do a better job than any solution you can mix. It can be had at most hardware or grocery stores for like 5$.
