Default How quiet is the pump from DTEK

Does anyone own one? I need something small, quiet and reliable. This one seems to fit the bill. I'm also open to any other suggestions.

Thanks!

The rio in the reservoir? It isn't silent. I think Danny takes them apart and glues the impellers so that their noise is quite a bit less than stock, but they still have a hum to them. A well bled Danner or Eheim is pretty much silent inside the case.

My danner is not silent, even when the impeller isn't rattling. The Dtek is definately quieter, but it's also easily 1/2 the size, more like 1/3..

Just my 2 cents...

I have just got my system up. I have an inline eheim 1250 and i cant hear it unless i put my ear next to case. I have to touch my case to see if it is running. The 2 cdrom drives i have are louder when they are at idle.

Oh yeah, my CD-roms, and just about any of my fans at full speed are louder than even my Danner, but when I slow my fans down and don't have a CD in there, I can hear the hum of the pump, and once in awhile, even with all my rubber isolation, the case will start to rattle from the pump's vibration.. Hella annoying.

we would say: f*ck*n' annoying as hell....

Oh ya. Una I am saying the cdroms are louder at idle. With no cd rom disks in the drives. In addition, when all fans and system is off, I still cant tell if the pump is on unless my ear is within 18" of the case.

Well the only noise is wfrom the area where my 2 cdroms and 1 hd are.

There is noise. A slight hum if you will.

Thanks for the replies guys. I got an Eheim 1250 on my normal rig. I love it but it's a bit on the bulky side. I'm looking building another system kinda like Una's Nanocube and Kevins's Chilli. Dano from DD is going make a Maze2 with elbow fittings for me so I can fit it in a case where the PS would probably be above the CPU. The radiator will be a BI once the price drops. The radiator choice was between a Eheim 1046 or the DTEK. I think they are the about same size but my main concern is the GPH on the 1046 is on the low side.

Based on everyone's post I'm going with the Eheim 1046 cause I don't feel the DTEK is quiet enough.
