Default A few radiator questions

Well right now my radiator is a 1986 chevette heatercore, and I was wondering a few thigs:
1. I have a carboard ghetto shroud on it now, how much would a real aluminum shroud help? And how exactly would I make it? Sounds a little hard to bend the metal perfectly and such.
2. Has anyone fit an 86 chevette heatercore in their case, particularly a Chieftec Dragon?
3. Might I need a new heatercore, or would I benefit a lot from a different one? If so, which one?

An aluminum shroud won't help unless your cardboard one is leaking air, or the new is a better design. The material itself won't effect performance.

A larger radiator would be able to tranfer more heat, but does your system need it? The Chevette core is pretty efficient and should be more than enough for most systems. Running dual CPUs, peltiers, etc. is a whole differant ballgame, though. If you have a "typical" seet-up, chances are you have other, weaker links than the rad. Tell us more about your rig for a better answer, though.

Ah, guess I should have done that .

I have it set up like this: pump>radiator>maze3 (ghey block I know, going to be replaced soon )>video block>pump

What is the difference between shroud designs? I would have taken pics if I had my camera, so I'll probably take some tommorow to better portray my setup.

The reason is that at 1.9v I'm getting 46°c temps (without the peltier/video block) and I don't like these temps . I'm also making a switch to 1/2" tubing (it'll cost me a total of $3 not counting the new block ), so I hope that would improve my temps as well.

those temps aren't that bad, considering u r at 2.1GHz and 1.9V. expect to find only marginal improvements (the ones u have to look real hard to c the difference) from adding stronger pump, different block, 1/2 tubing. what could be a nice improvement is adding a larger capacity HC or additional HC, then the airflow required through them will be a bit to alot lower.
