thats pretty cool, but it doesnt look too hard to build, and it would be much cheaper prolly to build it yourself

Maybe, but the tank is shaped to stick out of the side of the case, and that makes it a hard DIY unit to replicate. Not impossible.

Woot? I had a similar idea for a res once... This definitely opens possibilities!

just mount a window like normal, but use O-rings and JB-weld to seal it, then build onto it a "box" thats .25"-1" thick.

I've also been toying around with the idea of using a 'window res' for a while (not implemented, of course), but I intend to do it on the motherboard side of the case to show off a painted mobo tray (not done yet, either ).

I notice this one sticks out of the case a considerable distance--I would personally find that quite annoying (and silly looking). These windows have been done before with much smaller thicknesses, and can be installed so as to protrude inward.

Also, you could make the deep one installed 'internally', but only have it over the motherboard area, since there is usually at least a 1" gap between expansion cards and the door, and it wouldn't even foul the drive cages.

I thought it looked rather lame myself. Having it as a reservoir would be better, but imagine how much of a pain it'd be when you want to take the case side off!

My solution was to make the res inside the case and just have a window that looks in on it...

Lights On

Lights Off

You can see the water flowing through it in the background of an avi I made not long ago, showing off a windowed hard disk.
