Default Stacking Heatercores.

Hello Again.....

In my next setup I am going to be using this case: http://www.directron.com/ma01w.html . I want to get 2 of these radiators ( http://jpiperformance.com/xlr120radiator.htm ) and the scoops ( http://jpiperformance.com/scoop_twin_120.htm ) that comes with one of them. I want to mount them face to face and make a custom fitting to split the flow between the two rads, in and out.

My question is this: If I am sucking with two 120mm fans through the Scoop shroud, will the fact that i am sucking through 4" or radiator(s), cause my static pressure to raise signifigantly?

Why not go with a 2-144 (fedco) core if you want more than 1 scoop rad can give? 11 1/4" x 6 1/8" x 2 1/2" Total area of core = 172" of volume.

The scoop rad is (I heard) 10 3/4" x 6 1/8" x 2" = 131.5" volume

The 2-144 would offer you 23% more cooling area without the need for extra connections which will increase head loss, and not such a huge resistance for air flow. Could run dual shrouds with 4 fans if your needs demand it. A good performance boost, at lower cost. Would have to make your own "scoops" however.

What are your cooling needs? TEC's X ??? Is this going to have to be in case? Seems that 2 rads of that size would be a tough fit in most cases.

As I was going to use copper fittings with an internal Diameter Slightly larger than my tubing, head loss would not be that big if a deal.

That is true. I have decided to go in a total different approach. I am going to make a plexi box that a desptop case is gonna sit on. I am going to use negative pressure with 4 fans. I am going to use 4 of these radiators: http://www.heatercore4u.com/2-558.htm . I will split the flow between them all. I will use 2 pumps one before the rads, and one after.

I will be cooling a processor (not sure which one yet), northbridge, gpu, powersupply, and possibly a hard drive or two. I also want to be able to tec anything in the future if I so desire.
