okay, well, here it is, took me about 30 minutes in Maya. Basically, the water goes in from a 1/2" barb at the top, and comes out of 4 8mm fittings on either the sides or the top, the picture shows the sides. Here is a inside picture of the block, i dont have a outside pic yet:shrug:

now, i have absolute jack experience with power tools....so...uh....what exactly would you guys recommend to make this block? and second of all, what do you think of it?

The best way would be to use a CNC mill (automated). I dunno if you could find a place to do that yourself, or maybe someone here would be willing to make it for ya.
One thing is I doubt you will have enough room to have the outlet fittings on the side (because of all the mobo stuff), but like you said you can just make it come out that top. Another thing is I dunno how much the outer fins will do ya. How long are the pins going to be? Now I am no expert at all. Just sharing my thoughs. Looks pretty cool... |

the exit barbs wont be to effective as there is just a flat wall... however if you use a mill it act as a drill bit and you will get a curve instead of a corner..

Good idea. Hope he gets what you mean. You mean where instead of making the empty space next to the outlets w/ square corners. Mill it w/ a radius using an endmill... right?

That looks pretty good to me - lots of surface area. One thing you might think about is rotating the fins through 45 degrees so that there's no straight paths for the water to flow in. Instead, it'd have to flow in a kind of zig-zag fashion.

I'm no expert, at least not compared to some of the folks here, but that only says one thing to me;
High flow resistance. I think the first design would provide better performance while being easier to manufacture if you were to follow volenti's suggestions. 8-ball |

to be honest (and believe me, i've no provable backing for this) I think that design is unecessarily restictive. I think you'd be better off rotating the pins in your existing design by 45 degrees as i mentioned in my last post...
