Default The childhood of america looses a dear friend

Gentelmen, Ladies. At 2:20 eastern time. Our childhood friend and neighbor Fred Rodgers, star of Mr. Rodger's Neighborhood, died from stomach cancer at the age of 73. He will be missed by countless viewers that spanned many generations. He was a kind selfless man that showed us its ok to have an imagination and to be kind. Things that everybody could benefit from. Farewell Mr. Rodgers. We shal miss you.

Yeh, he was one of the truly GOOD people in the world. Doubt he had one single sin. The man was awesome.

Maybe we should have a national cardigan day

I'm going to miss him. My brother watched him growing up, and I watched him. Now my little brother just started watching him a couple years ago. He really does deserve a holiday. If they can have a presidents day, they should have a Mr. Rogers day.

Heck, I used to watch him while in Canada, even as a teenager! I'll never forget Mr. Rogers.

"Mr. Rodgers" day sounds good to me.

Yea, I was born when he first became syndicated and grew up watching "The Neighborhood" as a little kid. Too bad there isn't any equivalent stuff for my baby girl to watch these days.

Mr. Rogers was a great and redeemed man. However, just as a reminder to those who don't remember... he had his problems too. There are those who say that Mr. Rogers had a past problem with innappropriate relationships with children (sort of like Michael Jackson). Thankfully, he seems to have overcome that and become a great force for good in childrens' life all across America (and other countries too, I believe).

We shall miss him and remember him for the positive things he did.

I refuse to believe the stories about the "inappropriate relationship"... I think its BS cooked up to tarnish an otherwise very wholesome and helpful person.

What’s funny is I don’t find it at all hard to believe many Priests did bad things, or that MJ is a perv... But Mr. Rogers... hell no.

Who knows, Joe? But, my thought is, who cares? The important thing is what he became. He was a delight and a positive influence for many, many children.

Not too much. I just have a bad habit of playing devil's advocate so that all the sides of an issue get mentioned. He was a great guy, but he wasn't perfect. That's all.

Dought he had one single sin? Do you realize how much bullshit the church considers a sin? if you ever nutted other then trying to have a kid or a wet dream your a sinner. If you were born you were sinner for god sakes. Btw i never liked him but he was a good... and boring guy.
